I took my bird to get a nail trimming. He came back to me in his carrier with blood splatters on the carrier. The vet kept telling me he's just strong and put up a fight so they clipped a nail too short. They clipped 3 of his 8 nails too short. He was missing feathers and had a scratch on his eyelid. This was unlike any other visit at a different vet clinic. The vet assured me he would be fine. That evening my bird was upset and wasn't eating or drinking. He couldn't get around his cage by himself. I called again and the vet assured be a second time he would be fine. The next morning my bird wouldn't open his eyes. I knew something was wrong. My husband called another vet in the cities to find out that any blood loss for a bird is life threatening. My husband rushed him up to the emergency vet in the cities, he was dehydrated and had extreme blood loss. He had to stay overnight to get oxygen treatments to replenish him. $800 later our bird was happy but still handicapped by his nails. I told the vet about the experience and he told me that if I brought my bird to him he wouldn't have charged us and he would have taken blood samples to check his health. WHAT?! He would have taken more blood from my already ill bird to tell me he had blood loss????

I'm from another town and didn't know any of the veterinarians in Mankato, but wound up needing veterinary care while visiting my brother there. Dr. Jim Rundquist and also Dr. Debbie (name?) were a true answer to prayer. My bull dog got diagnosed by another vet on a Friday with a faster growing cancer that may or may not have spread to her lungs, but that vet wasn't willing to work her into the surgery schedule for 11 days! According to that vet, if the cancer may or may not have already spread to her lungs, then surgery should have been offered quickly in case it hadn't yet spread, to keep it from spreading. Another vet I checked with said it would be a month before they could work her in! Dr. Rundquist opened up a surgery day to get her in on Monday for a pre-op physical, and for a surgery Tuesday! That's the kind of selfless compassion and urgent effort to rescue the sick that the Bible calls surgeons, doctors, and vets to embody! Dr. Debbie did a great job with the pre-op exam, and explaining the wound care to me afterwards, and consulting with Dr. Rundquist about the growth he removed, and about the surgery. The surgery went great, and my bull dog is cancer free, thanks to God, and I'm grateful that He led me to the wonderful staff at Premier Veterinary Center in Mankato. The receptionist, Sue Erickson, and Dr. Debbie (name?) were very helpful in looking into the status of my dog's identification microchip, and educating me that sometimes they expire and require re-registration or payments to the microchip company to maintain their registry status. Sincerely, Mike

Terrible vet, it doesn't matter if he is nice. He never admitted his mistake and will continue to treat birds even though he has no idea what he is doing.

Old school veterinarian's with alot of heart! I can never repay you for my pooch Cypher he is my boy and you literally are saving his life

The staff is friendly, the vet has a heart of gold! He saved my golden lab's life! I highly recommend this place! They're so caring and loving!

I took my new born puppy to Dr. Ronquiste for an umbilical hernia. After 2 surgeries unfortunately she didn't make it. But he tried everything he could To save my little baby. The staff was supportive and so friendly. Will definitely be going back
