Like I said before, if you aren't a jackass you won't have any issues living here. Sure it's kind of expensive for what it is but other apartments in the area charge from $400 to $600 each month and they don't include anything. On top of that you are stuck in a lease for however long. They overcharge you for electricity, garbage, water etc. Look at the other reviews of other places to live and compare them to Stadium Heights. Stadium heights is the most straight forward and honest place to live in Mankato aside from the dorms. If you are coming to Mankato to go to school, learn and not party like a jackass, live in college run facilities.
Have been living here for three years now, never once have I had a problem that wasn't something normal like a broken light bulb. I don't party, have excessive guests, smoke, drink, or be loud. Guess what happens? Nothing. If you come here thinking that you are going to be partying because it's "Your Home", cool. You signed an agreement saying that you would follow the rules. The only gripe is that security should be more strict towards the people who are loud at all times and don't give two thoughts to screaming and laughing at 3 in the morning.
The apartments are the right size for a college student. The internet as of Fall 2016 is 25 MBps Down and Up, which is very nice. The bathroom and kitchen are adequate. The electric range could be of a higher quality. The included furniture is comfortable and large enough to seat 5 people.
It is worth noting that we were in building 711, one of the older buildings, and they do have newer buildings which are much nicer. That being said, they should demolish the older buildings as they are in TERRIBLE shape. If you can avoid even the option of ending up in one of these awful apartments, you should at all costs.
One of the most awful "dorms" I've ever had the displeasure of staying in. At first I was very excited because I was staying in a single room of a 5-person dorm, with a good-sized living room, kitchen, and shared bathroom. Upon immediate use however, we found that our dishwasher was leaking and our refrigerator's temperature was broken, causing it to freeze and melt, dripping onto the floor. This happened multiple times through the two semesters I stayed there, and when I reported it, it would take them a minimum of 3 days and a maximum of 2 weeks to send someone to fix it. When they did fix it, they didn't do a good enough job because we had to call for it to be fixed close to 3-5 times per semester. On top of this, during inspections, we experienced attempts at extortion for damages we did not commit. For example, we were accused of damaging the bathroom ceiling, which had water damage that had clearly accumulated long before we moved in. We were also (attempted) charged for water damage in the kitchen from the aforementioned dishwasher and fridge they failed to fix properly. After challenging these claims, they retracted them. I've heard similar stories of extortion from people who used to live at Stadium Heights too.
Guess what? if you have more than 2 friends, you should not be in this apartment, you can't breath even loudly, the worst thing they claim it's an apartment, but its not because apartment is your home and can have whatever you want to eat or drink but here you cannot have any kind of drink. More expensive compared to other living rooms all over in Mankato! no music. The internet is a way slow every time, I screwed at a time it went off after I opened my D2L exam. inside your bedroom is as cold as outside, you cannot adjust the heat and AC all you can do is just stay and shiver the weather! and by the time you get out, there is over $600 cleaning fee. Good suggestion, go look for apartments around they are clean enough, cheap to beat this and as flexible as you want.
These apartments are contracted through MNSUniversity. They aren't that expensive when you factor in electric, cable, internet, and etc. Make sure to sign up to stay through the summer. Also do your best so the CAs don't use all the student funds on themselves. The owner is more than willing to assist when and where she can. I would recommend these apartments to anyone. Just wish the university staff didn't treat adults like children.
The apartments in itself are very nice. I liked that it came furnished and the bathroom was nice with a mirror and sink outside of the actual bathroom. The only thing that sucks is that you are still living through the school. It's over priced and you can get in trouble easily. My CA was great, but the others were not. We got written up for having a candle not even lit and they knocked on our doors at least 2 times a week for being "loud" when we were just talking to each other. It was nice to not have to worry about bills, but I would have liked to control the temp bc in the hot weather we were sticking our heads in the freezer and in the winter we had to stay in the bathroom to keep our warmth.
