When you think of thrift stores, you think second hand goods for sale and great savings on items. Welcome to Goodwill that sell second hand goods, at very close to new prices, no saving here.
If by chance you do find an item that you want to buy. Then at check out they ask you would like to make a donation by rounding up to the next dollar? What Goodwill fails to realize is their items are donated in the first place. The customers are already making a donation, by buying their donated goods in the first place.
This is not a THRIFT store. This is a retail store with junk. A thrift store has affordable pricing on second hand goods. This store is a joke. This is the most expensive "thrift" store I have ever been to. There are plenty of other thrift stores in Mankato where you will find the same stuff but at affordable prices. This store will never get my business ever again, unless they start pricing their items at thrift store levels.
Just bought a piece of furniture and was going to pick up later in the afternoon. They called and said that the piece was accidentally donated and that they would refund my money but I couldn't pick up the piece of furniture. I asked them to send me a check since i lived 10 miles away and they said per their policy, I needed to pick up the refund in the store. Horrible customer service!!! Very overpriced too!
For a :"NON PROFIT" prices are pretty high and sad to learn that most of the money really doesn't go to charity and even less stays in the town the store is in which is kind of sad--much rather spend my money at other local stores to keep money in community. Decent selection for one of the smaller Goodwill stores. I've gotten good shoes and luggage here for not a lot of money. Men's wear is typically clean and in good shape.
